After the success of last year’s trip the club is organising another training weekend at Benmore on Sat 24th and Sun 25th March, suitable for ALL levels, beginners especially welcome!   There will be a mix of theory and practical sessions, with cycling around the (scenic) Cowal peninsula and swimming based at the local 25m pool in Dunoon.  The format will be similar to last year but with some new sessions, so it’s worth coming again even if you came last time as there will be a slightly different focus!  Sessions to include some of the following:

  • Led cycle ride in the local area (quiet roads with great scenery)
  • Yoga
  • 2 x coached swims at local pool along with a swim theory session (technique and drills videos)
  • Run session (off road)
  • Basic bike setup and puncture repair
  • Bike theory (riding technique) along with nutrition 

The cost per person of £125 is great value and includes:

  • 2 nights accommodation in dorm rooms (4-6 per room)
  • Food at Benmore (supper Fri eve, breakfast/lunch/dinner on Sat, breakfast/lunch on Sun)
  • As much tea, coffee, biscuits as you can handle 
  • And as much fun as you can handle with your GTC clubmates!

Benmore is about a 1.5 to 2 hr drive from Glasgow (via the Gourock ferry)

These sessions will take place from the Car Park situated at 1 Brownsfield Av, Renfrew PA4 9RZ (Aulds factory) and will involve a flat 7.5 mile (laps) cycle with a run off the bike.  These are coached sessions.  The bike course is a recognised flat Time Trial course out to the Houston roundabout and back used most notably for the Georgetown cup or short intervals in the estate.  The run section will be within the industrial estate.  6 sessions dates below are scheduled for before Christmas book via the bookings page of the website.  Brick training is a key part of triathlon training and practise will improve your performance.   Like all our sessions these sessions are suitable for all members fast or slow.

Inchinnan Brick session 5 Sat 21st Apr 2018

These sessions will take place from the Car Park situated at 1 Brownsfield Av, Renfrew PA4 9RZ (Aulds factory) and will involve a flat 7.5 mile (laps) cycle with a run off the bike.  These are coached sessions.  The bike course is a recognised flat Time Trial course out to the Houston roundabout and back used most notably for the Georgetown cup or short intervals in the estate.  The run section will be within the industrial estate.  6 sessions dates below are scheduled for before Christmas book via the bookings page of the website.  Brick training is a key part of triathlon training and practise will improve your performance.   Like all our sessions these sessions are suitable for all members fast or slow.
